It might be a while.....

My laptop is busted. So busted they want it back to either fix it or replace it. My bet is on the latter. Sigh. So it might be a while before I'm back with projects, pictures, news, etc. But if pictures are your favorite part - feel free to follow me on Instagram: RLR1222 My profile is private, so just send a request and I'll accept so you can join in the fun :-)

In the meantime, have a wonderful Passover, a Happy Easter and hope the snow continues to melt into Spring!

Happy First Day of Spring!

I don't know about you, but Matt and I worked from home yesterday as roughly 13 inches of the winter white stuff covered everything - all over again! I'm hoping to see clear ground by Passover/Easter in a few weeks but at this rate, I'm not holding my breath!

Safe travels to those headed to warmer places! Sheri!! :-)

NC, Sweet Tea & Kilwin's

This past weekend, Matt and I left Reese at home with Jake (we lost a remote control - but that's another story) and traveled with Alon and Amanda (Matt's brother and sister-in-law) to Blowing Rock, NC for a wedding.
We stopped for lunch after landing in Charlotte at a Waffle House on our way to Blowing Rock.
It was the first time either of them had been to a Waffle House and the REAL hash browns won over Amanda immediately!
The Meadowbrook Inn where we stayed - and also hosted the wedding - had some very friendly ducks!
VERY friendly ducks - these guys followed us to the door!

after unpacking and a small nap, it was time to head over to
Boone for the non-rehearsal Friday night festivities.
This is Capone's - a local pizza place in Boone, NC.
Behind Amanda are Matt's parents, behind Alon are the bride and groom.
After dinner we headed back to the hotel and crashed until morning. It had been a loooong day - that started at 3am to make our bus to Boston and then our early flight - so we were all pretty wiped!

Saturday morning started with a workout for Matt and I.
Nothing makes you feel better than getting up and working out!
The sunshine and 65 degree weather also helped ;-)
After breakfast with the in-law's and wedding party members also staying at the hotel,
we headed out for a walk to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL WARM weather and see a bit of the town!
This unique building is currently for rent.
I loved the architectural details and rounded doors and windows

we debated what type of business would work in such an interesting space
elegant stationary and wrapping paper.....
antiques? used books? coffee shop?
its placement on the corner would certainly bring in customers
no matter what was put there!
Another shop had crystal and antique silver.... accented by these little special creations!
Apparently the artist makes only a few 1-of-a-kind pieces each year.
this was a newer building - home to a real estate office
but they put on these old light/lantern fixtures by the door
Another newer building, but made to blend in, the
Library located next to the town park!
we window shopped and saw the sights until lunch time
when we stopped to eat at the Six Pence Pub. I did my
best to drink gallons of sweet tea!! :-)
The pub was British but specialized in Scotch/Irish food.
Everything was delish!
Amanda and I created the dessert table. Assembled really!

And being given away
I should have taken more photos of the table, but this is the one I got!
The reception was over fairly early, and so the boys went off to find some games while Amanda and I went to Kilwin's in town! I know of Kilwin's because they opened a new store in downtown Portsmouth this past fall - chocolates, fudge, ice cream - total YUM!!

And no, we didn't do anything for St Patty's Day this year as we were traveling home from NC - but I hope yours was truly GREEN!!! :-)

New Shoes!

This is a bit of a delayed post as I've been enjoying my new shoes for almost 2 weeks now! They are WONDERFUL!!!
These are black patent leather that I wear for work.
They are Dansko's Professional XP
which means they have a slightly rolled toe...
and rolled heel which eases walking quite a bit!
They also added a rubber textured bottom for better grip -
I have certainly loved this on the brick streets of Portsmouth!
I also invested in a dark brown pair for more casual  (not work) wear
UBER comfy and I have to say, totally worth the money!
I will never buy another pair of rip-off Dansko's again!!
Reese likes the black shiny ones best!! :-)
